Warm-up:
PLAN:
1. pg#53 Pre-Test: What did T-Rex taste like? (WS)
2. Pg#54: 2 Species Comparison (4 questions & a table) STAMPED in class for credit today
Write 2 species names down (animal, plant, fungi, bacteria...).
1. List as many features as they can think of that your two organisms have in common (at least 5).
Ex: If they are both species then they must both share all the 8 characteristics of life… plus what other features?
Remember, looks can be misleading!
Answer questions in your notebook in sentences (leave room for a table):
2. Do you think your 2 organisms are closely related to each other? Why or why not?
3. Do you think your 2 organisms share features because they were inherited from the same ancestor, or do you think they evolved similar features independently?
4. What features could be used as a basis for comparison for any two species?
5. Make a table and fill in two bullets per section:
Two things I KNOW about evolution / Two things I have heard / Two things I want to Learn
