- Which two species (put scientific & common names) of the eight above are most closely related? HOW do we know?
a) What traits/features do these two species have in common? (read the cards) - Which two species of the eight are the least related? How do we know? Do they share any traits?
- Make a conclusion: Why do organisms usually resemble each other? Coincidence?
- Look at your answer for #3. Do you think that is always the case? How else could scientists determine whether species are related besides their appearance (how they look)?
